Willow pattern point paper, by Tommy Donnelly, 1996 (LMILC.2004.389)
A point paper is a design made on graph paper, and is one of the processes in making damask linen. This one was made at the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum in 1996, and was inspired by a damask design from William Adams & Co., Belfast. It includes East Asian imagery associated with Willow pattern ceramic tableware, including flying birds, weeping willows, apple trees, Chinese temples, boats, and a crooked fence.
