Built Heritage: Castle Gardens and Castle Street, Lisburn

Lisburn has a wonderfully rich architectural heritage. This early 20th-century postcard from the collection shows Castle Gardens, Castle House and the former Georgian terrace at the interface of Castle Street and Seymour Street.
Castle House was constructed in the early 1880s by Sir Richard Wallace (1818-1890), the town’s former landlord. The egret fountain in the centre of the gardens likely dates from the mid 1870s.
