‘Well Lane’ was located off Hancock Street and looked towards the old quay on the Lagan. Almost 50 people lived on the lane in 1911, many of whom worked in the Island Mill which was nearby. By the 1970s, Well Lane had become run down. It was demolished in 1975, and the area redeveloped.
