Richard H. Crothers, automobile engineer, was located on Sloan Street, beside the Union Bridge. Opened around the early 1970s, the garage served Lisburn for decades. Many people got their car serviced here, or perhaps bought a car. Even after its closure, Crothers’ sign seemed to be almost indestructible and stood watch over the Union Bridge until recently.
