Video: Dr Alan Parkinson – The Northern Troubles 1920-22

In this talk Dr Alan Parkinson, author of Belfast’s Unholy War (2004) will examine the troubles in Ulster in the 1920s, from Belfast, Derry and Lisburn, and the violent context that surrounded the birth of Northern Ireland (1921). Alan Parkinson is a former university history lecturer/teacher-trainer. Born in Belfast, he has written widely in the areas of modern Irish political history and the social history of modern London. His most recent publication is ’A Difficult Birth- N. Ireland’s Early Years 1920-25’.
