Lisburn Museum’s Sporting Collections: tennis, golf and ice skating
The Museum’s holds a vast selection of objects, books, programmes, tickets, prints and ephemera relating to Lisburn and district’s rich sporting history. The collection above illustrates just a snippet from the stores, and includes a Dunlop Maxply tennis racket with racket frame; wooden gymnastic excercise clubs; Fagan Ice Skates, c.1960s alongside an earlier (1920s) model! And, a Golf club marked ‘L. Forshaw, G. C. Lisburn’, who played for Lisburn in the 1920s.
Many of these items are currently on display in our 40 Years Exhibition.
