A new guide to the stained-glass windows of Christ Church Cathedral, Lisburn, was recently launched by the Rector, the Rev Canon Sam Wright and the Curator of the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum, Brian Mackey. The guide, a collaboration between the cathedral and the museum, tells the rich history of the windows, including the daring attempt by local Suffragette Lillian Metge to blow up the East Window in 1914. Weaving together images, text, and nearly 400 years of history, the publication provides a colourful and accessible guide to the cathedral and its heritage.
The leaflet was launched in Lisburn Cathedral on June 10th 2015. Free copies of the guide are available in Christ Church Cathedral and the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum.
